Homelink is a rent-in-advance and leasing scheme for the non-priority homeless in east and northeast London. Homelink also provides volunteer resettlement support to clients in their new accommodation from our own team of trained and supervised Resettlement Support Workers.
For single homeless people in London, things have become much more difficult in recent years as rents have soared and Housing Benefit has failed to keep pace. Such is the level of demand and general desperation and the shortage of suitable accommodation, HomeLink can only function as a REFERRAL ONLY scheme.
This means that clients are referred from a list of organisations who work with the homeless including local authorities, hostels and some East End agencies.
Those referred to HomeLink have low support needs and are willing and able to live independently and maintain a tenancy by themselves after six months visiting support. To be eligible they must be on benefits or low pay up to twice benefit levels.
HomeLink is always searching for new accommodation to house people from our waiting list and we strongly encourage you to contact us with any prospects, tips or ideas for rented or leased property. We can offer up to eight weeks rent in advance and a guarantee or bond against loss or damage throughout the first tenancy. For leased accommodation we are looking for clusters of one-bed flats or good rooms which can be brought into use or offered vacant.

Although conditions in the private rented sector can change rapidly, it is fair to say that as a result of the careful screening of potential tenants and the visiting support that HomeLink provides we have a high success rate in settled tenancies and a low level of calls on the loss/damage guarantee.
